Evan Marcus enters his first season as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Falcons and brings 17 years of experience to the post.
Marcus spent the past four years serving as the Head Strength Coach at the University of Virginia.
Prior to his position with the Cavaliers, Marcus spent three seasons as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach with the New Orleans Saints. While with the Saints, he assisted the head strength coach in all phases of physical development, including strength, conditioning, flexibility, nutrition, agility and speed improvement.
Marcus spent the 1998-99 seasons at the University of Louisville, where he served on the same staff as Bobby Petrino as the assistant strength and conditioning coach. Prior to his years at Louisville, Marcus spent three seasons as an Assistant Strength
and Conditioning Coach at the University of Texas.
Marcus has also had assistant strength and conditioning coaching stints at several universities during his professional career, including Maryland (1994), Rutgers (1993) and Arizona State (1991-92).
The 39-year old Marcus is a 1990 graduate of Ithaca College, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. He earned three letters in football and was a starter at offensive tackle on the Bombers' 1988 NCAA Division III National Championship team. Marcus earned second-team All-America honors by Football Gazette and was the Michael S. Bond Scholarship Winner for football dedication in 1989. He earned a master's degree in higher education from Arizona State in 1992.
