Evan R. Chesler is the Firm's Presiding Partner and a member of the Litigation Department. During the past several years, Evan has served as lead counsel in many antitrust, securities, intellectual property and general commercial cases. He has tried numerous cases in Federal and state courts throughout the country.
Evan was born in New York, New York. He joined Cravath in 1976 and became a partner in 1982. He served as the Head of the Litigation Department from 1996 until 2005. Evan was elected Deputy Presiding Partner in November 2005, and Presiding Partner effective January 1, 2007.
