Mr. Tironi received a Ph.D. in sociology from L’Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (Paris France). He is currently a Professor of the Sociology Department of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and has published thirteen books and hundreds of articles in this field both in Chile and abroad. Mr. Tironi has been a consultant to international organizations such as the World Bank the International Labor Organization the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPAL in its Spanish acronym) and the United Nations Development Program. Between 1990 and 1994 he was a Director of the Secretary for Communication and Culture of the Chilean Government. In addition Mr. Tironi is the Chairman of Tironi Asociados a consulting and strategic communications firm which has advised many Chilean and international firms. Recently Mr. Tironi was a visiting professor at Notre Dame University (USA) for the fall 2002 semester. |
