Eugenia Amador Biography :

Eugenia Amador is a member of the firm's eminent domain group. Prior to joining Meyers Nave, she focused on real estate litigation. Her legal experience includes handling commercial and residential leases and purchase/sale agreements, secured financing, landlord-tenant law and compliance with building codes. As a law clerk, she researched the immigration impact on criminal convictions and drafted appellate briefs to the Board of Immigration Appeals. Eugenia participated in a business law clinical program at the Small Business Development Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to provide general legal representation to small and start-up business owners and advised clients on business entities, contracts, leases and regulatory matters. As a participant in another clinical program at the City of Philadelphia Law Department, she represented the City in personal injury litigation.Eugenia has worked with the Honorable Leslie Tchaikovsky of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Oakland and the Honorable Glynnis Hill at the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has also handled landlord/tenant questions and disputes, eviction defense, housing right and habitability issues as an intern for Community Legal Services in Philadelphia. Prior to law school, she was a lead legal assistant for an immigration law firm in San Francisco and a bilingual housing counselor.Eugenia received her J.D. in 2004 from Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During law school, she received distinguished class performance for the Integrated Trial Advocacy Program, Law, Economic and Morality and served as secretary of the Latin American Law Students Association. She received her B.A. in Urban Studies and a minor in dance from Bryn Mawr College in 1997. Her senior thesis was titled "Grassroots Activism Breaks the Cycle of Poverty in a De-industrialized City." During a peace studies mission to Cuba, Eugenia studied the Cuban housing system. She is also the recipient of a Mellon Minority Undergraduate Fellowship and studied abroad in Argentina at the National University of Rosario. She is a current member of the board of directors and newsletter editor for the San Francisco La Raza Lawyers Association and a past member of the San Francisco Tenants Union.
