As an executive board member of Pacer Health Corporation, Eugene Marini helps direct the Company's overall business strategy.
Marini is an award-winning healthcare executive with 18 years of medical facility management experience, including CEO positions in two South Florida hospitals, which he successfully restructured. Currently, Marini is the Chief Executive Officer of Oakridge Outpatient and Surgical Center. Prior to that, Marini was director of operations at Catholic Health Services, Inc., where he oversaw the operations of three nursing homes, two acute care rehabilitation hospitals, two home health agencies and two adult living facilities totaling 850 beds, 1,500 employees, and revenues of $100 million.
In 1999, Marini was recruited by Ruben King-Shaw, then secretary of the Agency for Healthcare Administration of the State of Florida, to restructure the Agency's Managed Care and Health Quality Division, a $1 billion operation with 800 employees. He was later invited by the president of Panama to review that country's healthcare system.
From 1994 to 1997, Marini was CEO of West Gables Rehabilitation Hospital, a 60-bed acute rehabilitation facility, and 120-bed sub-acute facility, which he brought into JCAHO compliance within six months of his hire. For his reengineering efforts, he received Turnaround Hospital of the Year, CEO of the Year, and Best Run Hospital awards from parent company Horizon/CMS.
Marini also has served as vice president of operations and business development at the Miami Heart Institute, a 278-bed, $260 million hospital within the HCA/Columbia network; CEO of Doctors Hospital of Hollywood, a 124-bed, $60 million hospital; and assistant administrator at South Shore Hospital & Medical Center, a 178-bed hospital
Marini holds a master's degree in public health, and a bachelor's degree in health administration, from Florida International University. He is a licensed nursing home administrator and member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. |
