Etienne Droit was appointed Executive Vice President of Sales & Distribution in 1997. In this role, he oversees the development of Dassault Systèmes’ global PLM sales and distribution channel, as well as leads executive sponsorship for several strategic customer accounts. Etienne is also an active member of the Executive Committee.
Shortly after joining Dassault Systèmes in 1985 as a development engineer, Etienne created a new solution enabling the realistic rendering of CATIA digital products. In 1988 he began managing the Development Strategy department, where he and his team made key advances in artificial intelligence and CATIA. In particular, he helped develop Dassault Systèmes’ CATIA Application Architecture (CAA) strategy for integrating third-party applications into CATIA.
Etienne was appointed Director of CATIA Application Products in 1991, and successfully developed and launched CATIA Version 4. In 1995, he became Executive Vice President of global sales and services, responsible for large enterprises. He also assumed management of Dassault Systèmes K.K. (Japan), a role he still holds today, whereby he oversees Asia Pacific market development.
Etienne Droit graduated from the École des Mines de Paris with a specialization in mathematical morphology, and is based at Dassault Systèmes global headquarters in France. He lives with his wife and four children in Neuilly-sur-Seine, and enjoys playing the electric guitar and mountain sports.
