Ernie D'Ambrosio is a cross-disciplined strategic planner, with an extensive background in both the areas of accounting and marketing. Throughout his career he has excelled in both areas, sometimes wearing both hats at the same time. His ability to appraise the salient numbers and projections is an invaluable asset to clients poised to invest millions of dollars in speculative projects.
Since 1986, Ernie has been involved in the gaming and hospitality industry, working in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, South America and South Africa. As a member of the opening team for the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Ernie established and implemented accounting internal controls and procedures, and hired and trained accounting staff. As the Director of Planning and Analysis for Trump, he managed the strategic operating and capital plan process, while overseeing the financial and marketing analysis departments. Later, as Director of Junket Marketing, he created a more efficient and streamlined marketing department and established new comp issuance guidelines based on theoretical and actual returns.
As a consultant for Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario, Ernie provided the management team from Carnival with experience in accounting and marketing prior to opening. He monitored the pre-opening and capital budgets and summarized construction progress to the corporate office. He also established internal controls, assisted in the hiring and training process, marketed the property and established comp issuance guidelines.
For another client, Ernie relocated to the island of Aruba to set up a casino in an existing hotel/resort. He monitored casino construction, staff hiring and training for all departments, served as acting Director of Finance and negotiated lease agreements with the hotel. Upon returning to the U.S., he performed market analyses and created operating pro-formas for gaming projects in Argentina and Brazil, and was part of a team preparing a gaming license for a casino resort in South Africa. Ernie has also directed the marketing department at the Showboat Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City. Ernie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Rowan University and has a valid NJ-CCC key license. |
