Erin Johnson specializes in land use and development issues based on her diverse background in real estate law, land use planning, development entitlements, permitting and regulatory matters, zoning and subdivision,annexation, and large-scale master planned communities. She has significant experience in working with and leading professional teams that address complex challenges involving planning and engineering, appraisal and valuation, and water and environmental issues. Ms. Johnson's broad public and private sector experience allows her to work effectively with owners as well as stakeholder interest groups,communities, government agencies, and local organizations to overcome land use obstacles and balance land development objectives with community and regional goals. Her work has included the establishment of many conservation easements and projects involving historic preservation, brownfield redevelopment, mined land reclamation, and public land exchanges. Ms. Johnson has held key strategic planning roles in three 1000+ acre master planned development projects, and is currently actively involved in a 2000+ acre project near Rico, Colorado. Her publications include: The Good Neighbor Guidebook for Colorado,Johnson Books; Geologic Hazards Avoidance or Mitigation, Colorado Geological Survey; Habitat Protection Planning, American Planning Association; and Development Agreements, Rocky Mountain Land Use Institute. Ms. Johnson is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), and maintains associations with the American Planning Association (APA), the Institute for Civic Achievement (ICA), the Institute for Independent Business (IIB), the Colorado Women's Bar Association, the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations, and is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. Ms. Johnson holds a J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law, a B.S. in Community Planning from Northern Arizona University, and a B.A.from Fort Lewis College. |
