Erin has a diverse civil litigation practice which focuses on general business and commercial litigation, with particular emphasis on business torts. In the general commercial area, Erin has represented shareholders as well as corporations and banks, in the Massachusetts State and Federal Courts, Delaware, New York and California. Erin has also represented management before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and in court cases involving non-competition agreements, discrimination, and patent agreements. Erin is also involved in law-related education programs involving Boston's youth, and has pro bono experience in landlord/tenant law and special education services.
Recent Transactions
o Assisted in the representation of minority shareholders in a complex corporate freeze-out dispute with international components.
o Successfully obtained injunctive relief on behalf of corporate clients against individuals and businesses in default on their debts.
o Recently assisted in the defense of an accounting malpractice action and helped to obtain a favorable settlement for an accounting firm in a professional malpractice case brought by a public utility involving complex state and federal tax issues.
o Involved in the representation of the Creditors' Committee in a large bankruptcy matter that involves bringing claims against the management and the Board of Directors of the bankrupt entity.
o Defended a hospital in an age discrimination case before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and negotiated a favorable settlement for the hospital.
