Eric I. Lark is a Member of Kerr, Russell and Weber, PLC. Mr. Lark is a member of the firm's Corporate Practice Group and specializes in the areas of business law, mergers and acquisitions, securities law, corporate finance, real estate law, and the formation and representation of alternative risk transfer entities, including captive insurance companies. His clients include public and private companies in the manufacturing, technology, services, construction, real estate, and insurance industries. Mr. Lark serves as counsel for a number of businesses, performing an array of services including business formations, mergers, buying and selling businesses, public and private offerings and other securities matters, financial transactions, contracts, real estate matters and alternative forms of insurance, both onshore and offshore.
Mr. Lark is Peer Review Rated AV (highest rating) by LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell, signifying an attorney with very high to preeminent legal ability, integrity and overall professional excellence.
Mr. Lark is currently Chairman of the 4000-member Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, as well as Council Member and the Director of Legislative Review for the Section. Mr. Lark has previously served as Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary of the Business Law Section, and as Program Director for several years. He also serves on the Section's Michigan Business Corporation Act Revision Subcommittee. He is a member of Michigan's Business Law and Real Property Law Sections.
Mr. Lark is licensed to practice law in Michigan and Illinois, as well as the District of Columbia, and is a member of the American Bar Association and its Business Law Section, a member of the Detroit Bar Association, and the Oakland County Bar Association. Mr. Lark is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He is also a member of the Cayman Islands Captive Managers Association and a member of the Southeast Michigan Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. He additionally currently serves on several committees within the firm.
Mr. Lark has published several articles and has made numerous presentations on a variety of business, real estate and captive insurance topics. Among Mr. Lark's outside activities, since 2002 he has been the President and a Board Member of his subdivision's Homeowner's Association. He is also an officer of one of the nation's leading restaurants.
Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1966, Mr. Lark is a 1991 graduate of Wayne State University Law School. He received his undergraduate degree, a BBA in Finance, with distinction, in 1988 from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Mr. Lark attended Birmingham Brother Rice High School. |
