Pro Career:
Drafted by the Cardinals in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft (111th overall), Brown saw action in nine games at right guard, starting all of them while battling a knee injury in his rookie year. Was on the 53-man roster but inactive for every game in 2006.
2006: Inactive for all 16 games.
2005: Made his first NFL start in the season opener @ NYG (9/11) at right guard one of six 2005 draft picks to start in their first year (Rolle, Arrington, Brown, Green, Blackstock,
McCoy) started the first seven games of the season at right guard started @ Dal (10/30) and missed one snap after bruising his knee deactivated due to a knee injury for seven games from 11/16 to 12/18 returned to start at right guard in the final two games of the season.
College:
Was twice (2003-04) the recipient of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy as the top blocker in the
Atlantic Coast Conference in his final season, captured All-American honors, in addition to elevating his All-ACC rankings to first-team status named first-team All-American selection by The NFL Draft Report, American Football Coaches Association and the Walter Camp Football Foundation as a senior first-team All-ACC choice and semifinalist for the Lombardi Award as a senior the team captain, he led the squad in knockdown blocks and had at least five in every game but one did not allow a sack and totaled 76 knockdowns started 11 games at right guard as a junior and helped Virginia lead the ACC with the fewest sacks allowed (12), the fewest sacks given up by a UVA team since 1987 (9) named honorable mention All-ACC as a sophomore after starting all 12 games he played played in 10 games with four starts as a freshman ... moved into the starting lineup at right guard for the Wake Forest game and remained there the rest of the season ... blocked a field goal vs. Virginia Tech.

Full name Elton Gillett Brown attended Hampton (VA) High School where he played both offensive and defensive tackle as a senior earned All-District, All-Region, and All-Daily Press honors in 2000, as he led Hampton to a 10-2 record and a second-place finish in the Class 3A, Eastern Region, Peninsula District also competed on the basketball and baseball teams at Hampton played at Heritage High School in Newport News as a junior, where he registered nine tackles for loss, including two sacks, and recorded two interceptions that season earned All-League, All-Area and All-Tidewater honors in 1999 for his play at defensive tackle and was twice named All-Peninsula at Newport News Anthropology major ... has a brother, Scorpio, who played linebacker at Hampton University. |
