Eloy Barbará is a partner with Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle, S.C. in Mexico City and a partner with Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP (New York).
Mr. Barbará has over 15 years experience in international corporate and financial transactions, privatizations, joint ventures and project finance. His practice includes several billion dollars of projects in the power industry, including independent power projects and build, lease and transfer transactions involving power plants, transmission lines and substations, as well as build, own and operate transactions for the world’s largest nitrogen production facility and coal storage facilities for the power industry. He also actively participated in a multi-billion dollar plan to upgrade five refineries in Mexico and in the program to increase production capacity in the Cantarell and Ku-Maloob-Zaap oil fields in Mexico. Recently he has participated in drafting and negotiation of oil and gas risk contracts in Latin America.
Prior to joining the Firm, he worked for two years in the legal department of the Public Credit Section of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit of Mexico.
