Experience: Beth has over 17 years in public and private accounting experience, including experience in installing and supporting computerized accounting systems and training personnel in their use. As an accounting professional, she has specialized in audits, accounting and management advisory services for manufacturers and long-term contractors, not-for-profit organizations, real estate developers, service/hospitality industry businesses, medical practices and homeowners associations. Not-for-Profit Organizations: Beth has extensive knowledge and experience with a wide range of not-for-profit and related organizations, including those which are subject to governmental auditing standards. Construction Industry: Beth has extensive knowledge and experience with commercial and residential construction services and other related contractors. She regularly assists clients with matters involving finance, bonding and indirect cost issues. Her areas of concentration include long range planning, financial statement and tax return preparation and other support services related to contracting issues. Tax Incentives: Beth’s experience also includes consulting with business owners regarding Enterprise Zone tax incentives including general income tax credits, job grants and refundable real property improvement tax credits. She has experience with disabled access credits and investment tax credits as well. Other Activities: Beth is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of CPAs. Beth is currently on the Finance Committee of the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, the Copeland Industrial Park Board, the Summit Christian Academy Marketing Taskforce and the Newport News Framework for the Future Taskforce. She also served as Vice President of the Peninsula Chapter of the VSCPA, chair of the board of directors for the Peninsula Crisis Pregnancy Center, and chair of the Finance Committee of Downtown Hampton Unlimited. In addition, Beth is a 2001 graduate of the Leadership Institute of the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. She was awarded the 2003 Virginia Small Business Administration Advocate of the Year by the Small Business Administration and has been recognized by Virginia Business magazine as a Super CPA. |
