recently joined GeneDx as a Senior Genetic Counselor. Originally from New England, Libby graduated from the genetic counseling program at the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA in 2001. Prior to joining GeneDx, she worked as a clinic counselor at Columbus Children’s Hospital where she provided pediatric, prenatal and adult counseling services to patients in the general genetics and outreach clinics, as well as the MDA clinic at Ohio State University. She then went on to work as a lab counselor at Athena Diagnostics, Inc. As the only full-time genetic counselor at Athena, she was instrumental in providing case management services for diagnostic testing, developing training programs in genetic education, coordinating research collaborations with experts in the field, and providing clinical input and expertise to business development and marketing strategies. Libby is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors. |
