In addition to overseeing the daily operations of the corporation, Ms. Brown keeps an active public-speaking schedule, including guest appearances on radio, television and media-sponsored online Internet chat programs. Ms. Brown is on the Executive Committee for the Women's Enterprise Initiative (WEI) co-sponsored by New England Women Business Owners (NEWBO), City of Newton, MA. She also served on the Economic Development Commission for the City of Newton. In 1995, she was selected as a CEO Success Story by "Inc." World. Ms. Brown holds an M.Ed. degree in counseling psychology from Boston College. Her professional affiliations include member and past president of New England Women Business Owners (NEWBO) and member of The Boston Club and the Mercury Resource Group (MRG). In addition, she is a founding member of FCIC, an investment club. Prior to founding SOFTEACH, Brown was a computer specialist with the Brookline, MA, Public Schools and a mathematics and computer teacher at a private school. She has a private pilot's license and is a past member of the 99'ers, an aviation organization for women founded by Amelia Earhart. |
