Elisabeth A. Bowman practice areas include class action consumer protection and antitrust. In addition, Ms. Bowman oversees and assists in the preparation of Coughlin Stoia’s litigation graphics. Ms. Bowman assisted in the successful prosecution of the following trials: Long v. Wells Fargo Co.; Yourish v. Ca. Amplifier; In re Helionetics, Inc. Sec. Litig.; Schwartz v. Visa; Douglas Shooker v. Gary Winnick; and In re AT&T Corp. Sec. Litig. Ms. Bowman received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Alaska at Anchorage in 1986. She majored in Fine Arts and Psychology. While a student at the U of A, she received a grant from the Ford Foundation to participate in the artists in residency program at the Visual Arts Center, Alaska. Ms. Bowman received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego in 1989. During the summer of 1987, she attended USD’s Institute on International and Comparative Law in Oxford, England. Ms. Bowman was in private practice as a criminal defense attorney for eight years, handling both trials and appeals in state and federal courts. Ms. Bowman is a member of Volunteers in Parole ("VIP"), an organization based on the Big Brothers’ paradigm, in which attorneys are matched with parolees from the California Youth Authority in an effort to offer positive mentoring. She also served on VIP's local and state-wide boards. Ms. Bowman is a member of the California Bar (1990), and is admitted to the Supreme Court of the State of California, the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. |
