Edward Kreisberg (Eddie) specializes in providing labor and employment litigation, arbitration and negotiation services to public and private employers throughout the State of California. Eddie's recent cases include representation of public agencies in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour and labor agreement lawsuits. Eddie regularly audits public agency rules, MOUs, job descriptions and payroll practices to ensure compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and the State Labor Code. Eddie also regularly serves as chief negotiator in collective bargaining with public agency unions and associations. Before joining the firm, Eddie worked for Liebert, Cassidy & Frierson, where he defended and advised public agency clients in all aspects of labor and employment law. Eddie also clerked for a federal magistrate judge of the United States District Court and worked in Alaska for a public interest law firm representing Native American tribes. Eddie worked for several years in Washington, D.C. as a policy and legislative advisor to Congressman Robert T. Matsui.Eddie is a sought after speaker on employment and labor law issues. He has addressed such organizations as CALPELRA, the Southern California Public Labor Relations Council, the International Public Manager Association (IPMA), the Public Agency Risk Managers Association (PARMA), the Bay Area City Attorneys (BACA), the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) and the County Counsels' Association. Eddie also has trained public agency management on such topics as discrimination, and harassment, discipline, the Americans with Disabilities Act, labor negotiations, the Family Medical Leave Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act. He also has co-authored an article entitled "Mental Disabilities Under the ADA" and a compliance manual for public employers on the Fair Labor Standards Act.Eddie received his J.D. degree from the University of California at Davis in 1995, where he was an editor for the U.C. Davis Law Review. He received his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley in economics and history. |
