Edgerrin James Biography :

Came to the Cardinals as an unrestricted free agent when he signed a four-year deal on 3/12/06.

Spent the first seven years of his NFL career with the Colts, who took him with the fourth overall selection in 1999 Draft behind Cleveland’s Tim Couch, Philly’s Donovan McNabb and Cincy’s Akili Smith. Left Indy as the franchise’s all-time leading rusher and earned four Pro Bowl selections in his seven seasons there.

Finished 2006 with 1,159 rushing yards. He became the first Cardinal running back to rush for 1,000 yards in a season since Adrian Murrell in 1998 and the first 1,100-yard rusher since Ottis Anderson in 1984. Also set a Cardinals franchise record for carries in a season with 337.

Arizona did not have a 100-yard rusher in all of 2005 but after establishing a steady offensive line combination, James topped 100 rushing yards three times in four games in 2006 (all in December and all wins).

Enters 2007 ranked 18th on the NFL’s all-time rushing yardage list and with 52 career 100+ yard rushing games, the 8th most in NFL history.

One of just 11 players in NFL history to earn back-to-back rushing titles (1999 and 2000); also one of only five players to do it in his first two pro seasons.
