Ed Trissel is an experienced counselor at Joele Frank, Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher in the areas of strategic corporate and financial communications for clients across a wide range of industries including financial services, heavy construction, medical devices, municipalities, pharmaceuticals, real estate, software and telecommunications.

Some of Mr. Trissel’s recent transaction experience has included representing eSpeed in its merger with BGC Partners; Basic Element in its investment in Magna International; Lone Star Funds in its acquisition of Accredited Home Lenders and North Pittsburgh Systems in acquisition by Consolidated Communications.

Previously, Mr. Trissel was one of the founding principals of Vistance Group, a corporate and financial communications advisory firm. At Vistance Group, he oversaw the firm's corporate positioning and financial communications practices, which included special situations and issues management. Specifically, Mr. Trissel counseled, developed and led programs for clients including Applied Materials, American Express, American Iron and Steel Institute, the City of Austin, Texas and The Nasdaq Stock Market.

Mr. Trissel's M&A experience at Vistance Group included advising Lone Star Funds in its acquisition of Lone Star Steakhouse; The Lerner Family investor group in its acquisition of the Washington Nationals from Major League Baseball; Kerzner International's proposed acquisition of Wembley plc; Enbridge Energy Partners in its roll-down of assets from its Canadian parent, Enbridge Inc. and Lornamead in its U.S. asset acquisition from Unilever.

Mr. Trissel's crisis and issues management assignments included counseling Lone Star Funds during investigations by the Korean government surrounding its acquisition of Korea Exchange Bank; The Nasdaq Stock Market with rumors regarding a possible merger with the New York Stock Exchange; the City of Austin, Texas in its bid to win a Samsung semiconductor manufacturing plant; the American Iron and Steel Institute after the repeal of the Section 201 steel import tariff; and Applied Materials and Spherion Corporation with management changes.

Before forming Vistance Group, Mr. Trissel was a Senior Managing Director at Hill & Knowlton in the firm's Corporate and Financial Communications Practice. Previously, he was a Vice President at Ketchum Public Relations in the firm's National Media Relations Department. He began his communications consulting career at Bustin & Co., a business development and marketing consulting firm.

Mr. Trissel received a Bachelor of Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations from The University of Texas at Austin.
