Douglas Mangel is a partner in the firm’s Insurance Practice Group. He has more than fifteen years of experience handling complex commercial litigation, including securities and broker/dealer litigation and cases involving failed financial institutions. For the past decade, he has focused his practice on the representation of professional liability insurers under directors’ and officers’ liability policies, investment advisor policies, employment practice liability policies and miscellaneous errors and omissions policies.
Doug represents insurers in coverage litigation, in the arbitration of coverage disputes and as claims monitoring counsel. As monitoring counsel, he has extensive experience in the investigation and settlement of securities class actions, derivative actions, actions involving mergers and acquisitions, as well as other complex claims asserted against corporations and their directors and officers. He has also litigated coverage issues in federal and state courts around the country, and has been successful in obtaining rulings on emerging issues that have advanced the interests of professional liability insurers. |
