Mr. Sparkman is senior vice president of Transportation & Logistics for Marathon Petroleum Company LLC.
Mr. Sparkman graduated from Louisiana State University in 1979 with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering. In 2005, he attended the Wharton Advanced Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Sparkman has 28 years of experience with Marathon. Throughout his career, he has held many positions of increasing responsibility at the company's Garyville, Louisiana, Detroit, Michigan, and Texas City, Texas, refineries. In 1999, he was named manager of Refining Operations, and in 2001 he became manager, Catlettsburg Refining, LLC.
On February 1, 2007, he was appointed senior vice president, Transportation & Logistics. In this capacity, Mr. Sparkman oversees the company's Terminal, Transport & Marine organization, Marathon Pipe Line LLC operations, Marketing & Transportation Engineering and the company's Product Quality department. |
