Mr. Kessler is the Chief Operating Officer and Head of Acquisitions for Ashford Hospitality Trust Inc. Mr. Kessler has been instrumental in Ashford’s growth from its IPO to over $4.5 billion of in assets. He is responsible for investment strategies hotel acquisitions and loans and capital market activities.
Previously Mr. Kessler was a Managing Director of the Company’s predecessor. Prior to that time Mr. Kessler was an investment banker for approximately 10 years with Goldman Sachs’ Whitehall Street Real Estate Funds where he asset managed more than $11 billion of real estate and served on the Board or Executive Committee of several companies including Strategic Hotel Capital Senior Lifestyle and Westin Hotels & Resorts. Prior to Goldman Sachs Mr. Kessler worked at Trammell Crow Ventures. Mr. Kessler has over 23 years experience in real estate acquisitions development sales finance asset management and capital raising.
Mr. Kessler earned his MBA and BA from Stanford University. He is a member of ULI (Hotel Development Council) the International Lodging Finance Council and a regular speaker at conferences. |
