Doug is a General Partner at Flagship Ventures where he focuses on Life Science investments. Doug has led Flagship’s investments in CombinatoRx and Alinea Pharmaceuticals. He co-founded Ensemble Discovery where he served as Acting CEO of the company in its initial stages. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of CombinatoRx, Ensemble Discovery, and CGI Pharmaceuticals, and is an Observer on the Board of Directors of Alinea. He has also been actively involved with Renovis (NASDAQ: RNVS), Hypnion, and Genstruct. Prior to Flagship, Doug worked for Vertex Pharmaceuticals where he held executive roles in product and business development. Doug also served as Associate Medical Director at Cytotherapeutics. Doug holds an AB magna cum laude in English from Dartmouth College, an MD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and obtained post-graduate training at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. |
