Doug Alexander joined Shell in 1989 after graduating from St Andrews University, Scotland with an MA in Economics and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Touche Ross & Co. During his career at Shell, Doug has undertaken a broad range of finance roles and has had various business experiences across Downstream and Exploration and Production, including: Shell International Marine - Trading Room Finance Advisor; Shell International Trading Co - Financial Accountant; Shell Petroleum Development, Syria - Deputy Finance Manager; Shell International Exploration & Development - Finance Advisor Europe. In December 1996, Doug moved to Shell Chemicals as Finance Advisor Europe & Africa. Between 1998 and 2001 Doug worked in Shell Capital as Vice President Structured Finance and then as Vice President Consumer Finance, before moving to Shell Consumer as Chief Financial Officer. Doug took the position of Vice President Finance for Shell Oil Products Latin America in October 2004 before moving to his current role as Vice President Finance for Shell Chemicals in April 2006. Doug enjoys watching and playing sport, particularly squash, tennis and golf and likes to travel. He is married with two children. |
