Dr. Donald H. Picker has served as our President since January 2007. Prior to joining Tapestry, Dr. Picker was Executive Vice President of Research and Development at Callisto Pharmaceuticals where he led the development of several anti-cancer compounds. Prior to his tenure at Callisto, Dr. Picker was involved in a number of start-up biotech companies in the area of oncology. From 1991 to 1996, Dr. Picker served as Senior Vice President of Research & Development at Genta Incorporated where he led the team that discovered and brought into the clinic the oncology drug, Genasense®. For a decade, Dr. Picker was also Worldwide Vice President of Biomedical R&D for Johnson Matthey where he oversaw the discovery and development of the anti-cancer drug candidates Carboplatin, Satraplatin and Picoplatin. Prior to that, Dr. Picker was at SmithKline Beecham (GlaxoSmithKline). He has co-authored some 35 publications and is named on ten issued patents in the area of oncology. Dr. Picker received a B.S. in Chemistry from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute and his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the State University of New York at Albany. |
