Biography
Donald G. Deutsch, CPA has extensive experience in tax and accounting issues involving a broad spectrum of clients, including businesses involved in wholesale distribution, steel, and various clients in retailing. His in-depth tax experience includes problems with changes in accounting methods, and working with the IRS assertions of hobby losses for his clients. Mr. Deutsch holds the Qualified Installer for AccPac software certification, which he obtained in order to help meet his clients' Information Technology needs. He has extensive training and experience in the utilization and integration of receivable, payable, cost-accounting and general ledger packages. With the assistance of network consultants from Kemper Technology Consulting, he is uniquely qualified to assist small business clients with improving efficiency and the processing of information needed to run a profitable business.
Mr. Deutsch attended Washington University in St. Louis, as well as the University of Evansville, from which he graduated with a bachelor of science degree in accounting in 1972. Don's first job in accounting in 1963 was with Tiger Fireside & Company in St. Louis. He worked as a staff accountant until he came to Evansville in 1966, starting with Nathan Lieberman & Company. He became a partner in the Lieberman firm in 1968, and purchased the interest of Mr. Lieberman in 1972. Don practiced public accounting as a sole proprietor until 1981, at which time he merged with Don Burks and Lee Vernon to form Burks, Vernon, Deutsch & Company-a firm that then merged with Kemper CPA Group LLP in 1993.
