Don Black started in the food business while still in high school & continued through college. At Drew Foods in Boonton, NJ from1957 to 63 he was a Lab Tech. Don worked for Theobald Industries in Kearny/Bayonne, NJ from 1964 to !977in a variety of positions. He started as a research chemist and was at various times Plant Manager Bayonne deep water refinery and Corporate Tech Director. From 1977 to 1982 he worked for PVO Int. St. Louis, MO. as the Corporate Technical Director, VP Mfg, and VP Sales & Marketing. From 1982 to 1984 he was at Kay Corp in NYC,NY, as Corporate Vice President with responsibility for new acquisition operations. In 1985 Don was President of PVO Int, in St. Louis. From 1986 to 1994 he was President CEO and part owner of PVO Foods. HE sold PVO to ADM in 1994 and remained with the company until 8/31/07 as General Mgr. of North American Packaged Oils. Since Sept 1, 2007, Don has operated his own business, Don Black & Assocs. LLC, doing long term consulting for small business food companies, in addition to executive recruiting.
