Don D. DeCarlo, 49, was elected vice president and general manager, Western Division, in 2002. DeCarlo previously served as vice president and general manager of Devon’s Rocky Mountain Division and served in the same capacity for Santa Fe Snyder Corp. DeCarlo began his professional career in 1978 with Tenneco Oil Co. in Oklahoma City. In 1989, he joined Santa Fe Energy Resources as an engineering manager in Tulsa, Okla. During his 11-year tenure with Santa Fe, DeCarlo held management positions of increasing responsibilities in Bakersfield, Calif., Midland, Texas, and most recently in Denver, Colo. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from West Virginia University. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and currently holds the position of vice president for the Independent Petroleum Association of the Mountain States.
