Djoko Setiono Soeroso of Jakarta, Indonesia, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 89th International Convention, held in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, June 30-July 4, 2006.
Director Soeroso is a president and CEO.
A member of the Jakarta Kota Lions Club since 1978, Director Soeroso has held many offices within the association, including club president, region chair, zone chair, council chair, vice district governor and district governor. He has also served as district cabinet secretary, multiple district long-range planning chair and district and multiple district membership chair. Additionally, he has served a faculty member of two Senior Lions Leadership Institutes and a local coordinator and faculty member of one Emerging Lions Leadership Institute. He is currently a Mission 30 Team Leader.
In recognition of his service to the association he has received numerous awards, including two District Governor Appreciation Awards, the Membership Excellence Award, the Extension Award and the International President’s Award. Director Soeroso is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow and has made a major gift contribution to Campaign SightFirst II.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Soeroso is active in numerous professional and community organizations, including the Indonesian National Sports Committee and the Economy Faculty Airlangga University Alumnus Club.
Director Soeroso and his wife, Sri A. Paramarta, also a member of the Jakarta Kota Lions Club and a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, have one son and two grandchildren |
