Ms. Sumoski handles a broad range of business litigation in both state and federal courts. Her practice focuses on competition-related litigation that arises from employment relationships, particularly relating to covenants not to compete, trade secrets, and breaches of confidentiality and fiduciary duty. Ms. Sumoski has extensive experience representing officers and directors in securities class actions coordinated through the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation including serving as a member of the Ken Lay defense team in the Enron MDL proceeding. In addition, she has represented national and multinational corporations in a wide variety of complex business disputes, including matters of intellectual property litigation, products liability litigation, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and unfair competition. A number of these disputes also were litigated as class actions. Ms. Sumoski also has considerable experience handling trust and estate litigation matters, and working with individuals to resolve these cases either in or out of court. Ms. Sumoski represents clients in a wide range of industries, but she has particularly notable experience with clients in the technology, telecommunications, and food industries. Ms. Sumoski enjoys serving the community and the bar through numerous activities, including acting as pro bono counsel to the Board of Directors of the Dallas Contemporary, as Co-Chair of the Expert Witnesses Committee of the ABA Section of Litigation, and as an active participant in the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program. Ms. Sumoski serves as a Group Leader for the firm's business competition and intellectual property group, as the firm's Pro Bono Partner, and as the Chair of its Diversity Committee. |
