Ms. Petrella began her career as an electron microscopist in the pathology department of West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, West Virginia. From there she moved to The Upjohn Company in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she worked in the Electron Microscopy Facility of the Toxicology and Pathology Department. In time, that laboratory began to include cell/tissue culture as a research tool. Both primary cell cultures and immortal cell lines were used to investigate unique toxicology issues. Subsequently, Ms. Petrella joined a team that addressed toxicity issues in a predictive, pro-active manner. That predictive toxicology focus is now the center of CeeTox, Inc.’s cell-culture methodology. Throughout her career Ms. Petrella has made presentations at meetings of the Electron Microscopy Society, Tissue Culture and Cell Biology, and the Society of Toxicology. She has also co-authored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts. |
