Devaraj Southworth joined the Board of Advisors in May 2001. Mr. Southworth is currently a Media Sales Executive for Curtco Media Labs, a developer of niche publishing businesses that has brought its investors an average rate of return in excess of 200% while generating $250 million in value.
Mr. Southworth has spent most of his career in sales, management, and venture capital consulting spending several years in the Asia Pacific, including China, India and Japan. Mr. Southworth has held several executive positions with Accenture and Deloitte Consulting and has been an advisor to companies including: AXA Financial, Avaya Communications, Bank Boston, Bombardier, Bristol Myers Squibb, Cessna, Dassault Falcon Jet, DonorsTrust, GE Capital, Gulfstream, JP Morgan, Marquis Jet Partners, Morgan Stanley, NetJets, Pepsi, Pfizer, Philip Morris, SentientJet, Sony Electronics, Toyota Motors as well as several dozen small to mid-size companies.
Mr. Southworth's responsibilities have included advising Fortune 500 executives to raise equity and debt financing, build strategic and financial plans, and manage large-scale mergers and acquisitions. In addition Mr. Southworth has been responsible for assembling high performance management teams, streamlining workflow processes, and increasing operational efficiencies.
Mr. Southworth is also a founding partner of IDC Ventures LLC, a privately held, technology investment group specializing in developing and financing voice and data networks in Latin America. In its first year of operation IDC successfully raised over $2 million in operational capital for several early stage telecom operating companies.
Mr. Southworth holds dual degrees in Organizational Psychology and Communications from Ohio Wesleyan University and was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study Entrepreneurship, Business Management and Japanese at Kansai International University in Osaka, Japan. Mr. Southworth currently sits on the boards of several organizations including CDS Consulting, StarNYC, The Second Chance Foundation, 1Vote.org, and the YMCA of Greater NY. He is also a member of The International Who's Who Association. |
