Dennis Vermillion is president and chief operating officer of Avista Energy. Vermillion was appointed to his position within Avista Energy in February of 2001. He joined the company in 1985 holding various staff and management positions. With over 16 years of experience Vermillion has been responsible for numerous leadership roles within the company including Risk Manager for the western commercial trading and marketing groups and Director of Trading for the western energy trading and operations group.
Vermillion's experience covers a broad range of activities including leadership trading marketing risk management scheduling resource operations power/transmission contracting resource planning and coordination regulatory issues and production cost modeling.
Vermillion is a 1985 graduate of Washington State University with a bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering. He is a long time member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and is a past Chapter Chairman of the Power Section Spokane Chapter of the IEEE.
He and his wife Marlena are the parents of two children: Kristie and Ross. |
