A 25-year veteran of professional team sports, Mannion originally joined the Ravens as vice president/business development and marketing in December 1999.
Prior to his appointment with the Ravens, Mannion served as senior vice president at Ascent Sports, owner of the NHL's Colorado Avalanche, NBA's Denver Nuggets and the Pepsi Center, where both teams play...From 1997-99, Dennis handled all business operations of both clubs...During his tenure, he transitioned the teams' operations to the newly-built Pepsi Center and signed the agreement for the 2000 NHL All-Star Game.
Mannion served 16 seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies from 1982-97, including the last 8 years as VP of marketing...Mannion was noted for enhancing the fan experience at Veterans Stadium and was named as a "40 Under 40" award winner in 1996 by the Philadelphia Business Journal. The Phillies received MLB Marketing Excellence awards in 1984 and 1986...He was instrumental in both the acquisition and the staging of the 1996 MLB All-Star Game in Philadelphia.
Mannion, who graduated magna cum laude from the University of Massachusetts in 1981 with a B.S. in business and sports management, received the "Distinguished Alumnus Award" from his alma mater in 1998...Dennis currently serves on the NFL Business Ventures Committee, the Baltimore Better Business Bureau, the Baltimore Classic Fund, the Camden Yards Sports and Entertainment Commission and is the founder of the Ravens All Community Team...Among only a handful of professional sports executives with experience in all 4 major sports leagues, Dennis has been a part of 2 MLB World Series, a MLB All-Star Game, NHL Conference Championships, and a Super Bowl.
