Mr. Marlo served as Chief Risk Management Officer of Sovereign Bancorp, Inc. from April 2001 through June 2004 and currently serves as Executive Vice President. Mr. Marlo joined Sovereign in February 1998 as the President of the Pennsylvania Division of Sovereign Bank and was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Sovereign in May 1998, serving in that capacity through April 2001. Prior thereto, Mr. Marlo served as President and Chief Executive Officer of ML Bancorp Inc., a predecessor company of Sovereign, and as a partner with KPMG, LLP. Mr. Marlo completed the Graduate School of Community Bank Management at the University of Texas at Austin and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from La Salle University. He is a certified public accountant. |
