Dena Denooyer Stroh Biography :

Ms. Stroh's practice centers upon complex business litigation, including corporate governance and a range of business tort issues. She has also focused on computer and internet issues, having represented an internet service provider in Dallas litigation matters. Ms. Stroh has represented directors, officers, and lawyers in breach of fiduciary duty and malpractice cases. Ms. Stroh has successfully represented clients in all aspects of civil litigation in both federal and state court, and has obtained favorable outcomes arguing motions for summary judgment and defending against a contempt motion (retained days before hearing). Ms. Stroh has removed a number of cases to federal court, and has settled many cases with terms favorable to her clients. Ms. Stroh's courtroom experience includes a two-week wrongful foreclosure jury trial, a multi-day federal bench trial in which Ms. Stroh was lead counsel, and a day-long jury trial in county court in which the trial judge granted a directed verdict for her client. Prior to joining Carrington Coleman, Ms. Stroh was selected as a Summer Law Intern for the Department of Justice, Antitrust Division in Washington, D.C., an internship she completed while studying for the bar exam in 1999. Ms. Stroh served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Thad Heartfield, United States Chief Judge, Eastern District of Texas, from August 1999 to November 2000. Ms. Stroh participates in numerous professional and civic activities. She was a member of the 2001 Leadership Class of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers ("DAYL"), which organized the first annual Freedom Run. Ms. Stroh was elected to the DAYL Board of Directors in 2002, and continues to serve on its board. She has also served as co-chair of various DAYL committees, including the Aid to the Homeless Committee in 2006 and the Lawyers Against Domestic Violence Committee in 2002. Ms. Stroh has been a member of Attorneys Serving the Community since 2001, and currently serves as co-chair of the Individual Underwriting Committee. Ms. Stroh is also a founding member of the Dallas Talented and Gifted Foundation, created to support education of talented and gifted students in the public schools. She has been named by Texas Monthly magazine as a Rising Star for 2007. Ms. Stroh was admitted to practice law in Texas in 1999. She is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
