Demetrius Williams Biography :

Transactions:

Demetrius Williams was the 111th selection (4th round) of the 2006 NFL Draft... Williams was the 2nd player drafted out of Oregon by Baltimore in 2006 (DT Haloti Ngata - 1st round, 12th overall) and 3rd Raven overall to be selected from the university (WR Patrick Johnson - 2nd round in 1998)...A strong vertical threat, Williams' presence will help the Ravens to stretch the field in their passing game.

Highlights:

Playing in 45 career games with 28 starts, Williams is one of the most accomplished WRs in Oregon history...He was a 2nd-team All-Pac 10 selection (NFL Draft Report) as a senior...He also stands among the elite on the school's all-time receiving charts - his 162 career receptions tie for 3rd in school annals, and his 2,660 yards are 4th all time...Williams' 11 games with 100 or more yards receiving is an Oregon record...He posted 20 career TD catches, good for 4th all time.

Pro Career:

"Two years ago (when Demetrius was a sophomore), we were studying (Oregon senior WR) Sammy Parker when I would ask, 'Who is that guy?'" general manager/executive vice president Ozzie Newsome said. "He struggled a little bit as a junior, but bounced back as a senior and had a very productive year. I think it's going to be very hard to keep him off the field this year, even though he's competing with (veteran WRs) Clarence Moore and Devard Darling for the 3rd WR spot."

College Career:

2005: All-Pac 10 Conference 2nd-team selection by The NFL Draft Report his senior season...Played in 13 games (starting 7)...Williams posted 59 receptions for 1,059 yards (17.9 ypc) and 10 TDs...The 1,059 yards were the 22nd-most in the nation and good for 4th on the school's single- season records list...His 10 scoring grabs tied Bobby Moore (Ahmad Rashad) and Tony Hartley's school record from 1969 and 1999, respectively...Impressively, 39 of Williams' catches earned 1st downs, as 15 of those grabs occurred on 3rd-down plays...Fifteen of his 50 receptions earn 20 or more yards, including his longest of the season, a 61-yarder...Falling just short of the season record of 5 games, Williams tallied 100 yards in 4 separate contests...His best performance came in the season opener at Houston (9/1) when he totaled 9 catches for 133 yards (11.8 avg.) and 1 TD...At Stanford (10/1), he netted a season-high 168 yards on 6 receptions to lead Oregon to victory...Williams also posted 2-TD performances in wins against Fresno State (9/17) and Washington (10/15).

2004: Played in 9 games (8 starts) and led the Ducks with a team-high 47 receptions for 593 yards (12.6 avg.) and 2 TDs...Impressively, 21 of his grabs netted 1st downs, including converting 8 3rddown plays...Williams had 7 receptions for 20 yards or longer, and also racked up 100-yard receiving days against Indiana, Washington State and Arizona...His 12 receptions against WSU (10/9) were the 2nd-most single-game catches by a player in Oregon history.

2002: Played in 11 games, seeing mostly time on special teams and reserve action at WR...Totaled 5 receptions for 73 yards (14.6 avg), with a long grab of 32 yards against Portland State...His top game came against Stanford when he registered 3 catches for 35 yards.

2001: Redshirted as a true freshman.
