Debra A. Schaumberg obtained her Ph.D. in Optometry summa cum laudein 1991 from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, where shewas also the recipient of several honors including the Clinician of theYear Award. Following this, Dr. Schaumberg went on to complete anophthalmic disease residency at the Westside Veterans AdministrationMedical Center in Chicago. Next, she earned a master’s of Public Healthfrom the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health in Baltimorein 1994 and later completed a research fellowship in preventiveophthalmology at the Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute. Dr. Schaumbergcompleted a second research fellowship in ophthalmic epidemiology atHarvard Medical School in 1995, after which she earned doctoral degreein Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health in 1999. |
