Mr. Mitchell previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Guilford Pharmaceuticals Inc. Prior to joining Guilford Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Mitchell served as Vice President, Strategy; President, International Pharmaceuticals, and President, U.S. Primary Care for the Bristol-Myers Squibb Company. Mr. Mitchell also served with GlaxoSmithKline and its predecessor companies in a number of executive and senior management positions, including, most recently, Senior Vice President, Clinical Development and Commercial Strategy. Mr. Mitchell received an MBA degree from City University Business School in London, and a BSc degree with Honors in Applied Biology from Coventry University. Mr. Mitchell joined MGI PHARMA’s board of directors in October 2005. |
