David Weinberg, 57, is an independent consultant and provides business development strategy to Wellfleet Partners, Inc. In 2003 he was asked to serve as the Chief Operating Officer for IDT Venture Capital. In this capacity, he led the search for non-telecom acquisition candidates for IDT, which had become a major presence within the telecommunications and other related industries. Soon after accepting this position, David was also asked to head up the acquisition effort for Liberty Broadcasting Group, IDT’s national broadcasting division. Previously Mr. Weinberg was vice president of Net2Phone’s emerging prepaid calling card division and from June of 1999 on he was the director of Global Network Development at Net2Phone. Prior to his activities at IDT he owned and operated a major wholesale food distributor in the New York metro Area. Mr. Weinberg received a fellowship to the University of Pennsylvania Wharton Graduate Program from which he received an MBA degree with a concentration in accounting systems and finance. David is married and lives in Brooklyn, NY.
