David Southern joined Alvine Pharmaceuticals as Director of Finance in November of 2006. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Southern was Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Threshold Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he helped take the Company through its successful IPO and follow-on financing. From 1999 to 2004 he held positions of increasing importance up to the position of CFO at Abilizer Solutions, Inc. From 1992 to 1999 he was employed by Scios, Inc. where he rose to the position of Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. Prior to Scios, he held various financial and strategic planning positions at Cetus Corporation and Diablo Systems, a division of Xerox Corporation. He received his B.A. from Antioch College, an M.A. from San Francisco State University and an M.B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. |
