In his 14 years with ASAP, vice president and controller David Polster has been a leader in positioning the company for financial security, growth and success. David has developed financial processes, including new controls and procedures that have helped ASAP increase in size twenty-fold since he joined ASAP in 1992.
Prior to ASAP, David had more than 10 years of combined senior financial management experience in manufacturing and distribution as treasurer for Katalco Corporation (a Nalco subsidiary) and as controller for Berlin Packaging Corporation. He has also served in public accounting, servicing medium-sized manufacturing and distribution companies in audit and tax matters.
In 1996, David played a key role in the merger with parent company Corporate Express and the acquisition of ASAP France, both of which have been extremely beneficial to ASAP's financial growth and international expansion.
David has played a key role in the start-up, development and success of the company’s service businesses through financial leadership and guidance for both License Technologies Group and ASAP eSMART. He also had an integral part in implementing the automation of the company’s financial systems, ensuring greater efficiencies within the company's accounting function. A recent benchmarking survey conducted by The Hackett Group cited ASAP’s financial group as world class.
David earned his BA in business from University of Colorado and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. He is CPA-, CMA-, and CFM-certified and is a member of the Illinois Institute of CPAs, the Institute of Management Accountants, and Beta Gamma Sigma Honorary Business Society.
