As Senior Consultant, David McDiarmid has over 25 years experience in the AV industry. As a manager for a leading mid-west independent manufacturers’ rep firm, he explored and introduced innovative, high-impact and emerging audiovisual technologies to a spectrum of clients from higher education to healthcare to the corporate sector. Dave’s experience spans audiovisual system designs for projects from classrooms, labs and libraries, to executive boardrooms and videoconference suites. Prior experience includes stints with technology integrators in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Hebron KY where he was responsible for hundreds of system designs, installations and commissionings. He is certified by dozens of audiovisual manufactures and has conducted technical training sessions on many products for audiovisual contractors across the Midwest. Beyond audiovisual technology, McDiarmid holds a unique appreciation and understanding of educational pedagogy, coming to the industry from a decade as an educator at a private college-preparatory school, with further experience as an Advanced Placement Grader for a national educational testing service. In addition, his wife is a university instructor. David holds a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University and a Master of Arts from Middlebury College, is an avid world-traveler having lived in France, Switzerland and India, and is a fluent francophone. Based in Cincinnati, he is active in the local community and professional organizations, including InfoComm International, through which he is credentialed as a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS). |
