David Marra has broad range of experience in video surveillance and Internet Technologies, bringing nearly 10 years of IP Video experience to the organization. Currently, he serves as Chief Technology Officer at videoNEXT. Prior to the founding of videoNEXT, Mr. Marra collaborated with Chris Gettings on numerous projects involving, Telecommunications, Internet and IP Based Video. This alliance, as well as a shared vision of moving Information Technology into the Physical Security space led to the founding of videoNEXT. Mr. Marra leads the strategic and technical development direction of videoNEXT and it’s suite of products. Mr. Marra has worked extensively in the field of video surveillance technology. He has served in a design capacity on numerous large-scale government surveillance implementations. Mr. Marra served as subject matter expert for the U.S. Transportation Security Administration to design the video system deployed at the 472 TSA controlled Airports in the U.S. Additionally, Mr. Marra served as Architect for the U.S. Air Force Remote Visual Assessment (RVA) project where he was instrumental in creating a perimeter surveillance system for deployment at 500+ Minuteman Man Nuclear Missile silos throughout the continental U.S. Further work with the U.S. Air Force found Mr. Marra, serving again as architect-this time for the Integrated Base Defense Security System (IBDSS) contract, where he was responsible for implementing a system for perimeter surveillance and intrusion detection to be deployed in 380+ U.S. Air Force Bases. Mr. Marra has completed extensive work with other Federal agencies such as the Federal Protective Service (FPS) and the U.S. Department of Education. As Architect for the U.S. Federal Protective Service Remote Mobile Command Unit, Mr. Marra led the development of a system enabling the FPS to have wireless video surveillance connectivity to more than 2800 surveillance cameras deployed in Federal buildings throughout Washington D.C. With the U.S. Department of Education he designed an integrated data, voice, and video system for access control, facilities management and video surveillance deployed in 25 Federal buildings across the US. Mr. Marra attended George Mason University, where he studied both Finance and Computer Information Systems. In his free time he enjoys aviation, equine polo, water and snow sports. Mr. Marra is also an active advocate for numerous charitable organizations. |
