Mr. Hesse is counsel in the International Corporate Department and has been with the Firm since 1999. His practice is focused on three main areas: (i) private equity, (ii) investment management, and (iii) energy. His private equity work involves venture capital and acquisitions representing both investors and companies in all stages of development. His investment management experience includes fund formation and UCITS regulatory matters. Mr. Hesse has been active in lobbying the French regulatory agency (AMF) for more efficient UCITS regulations. His energy experience is focused on advising national oil & gas companies in connection with upstream activities, international tenders, refinery projects, farm-out agreements, and other contracts in the petroleum and petrochemical industries. He has also been involved in numerous international commercial arbitration matters. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Hesse conducted seminars in private international law as an associate professor at Universite de Paris II Pantheon-Assas School of Law.
