David (Dave) Heacock is a senior vice president of Texas Instruments and manager of the company’s high-volume analog and logic (HVAL) business unit. He was named to this position in March 2007. This organization is responsible for analog and mixed-signal chips for high-volume applications such as digital cameras, printers, hard disk drives and automobiles, as well as TI’s standard linear and logic business unit.
Prior to his current role, he was vice president of TI’s portable power management business unit. In this role, he held overall responsibility for the business unit’s strategy and operations, including product definition and product development. Heacock was previously the manager of TI’s battery management product line, having joined the company in 1999 when TI acquired Unitrode Corporation, a specialist in power management. He was elected a vice president of TI in July 2003.
Before joining TI, he was the director of portable power products at Unitrode. Heacock came to Unitrode in 1998 through its acquisition if Benchmarq Microelectronics, where he had served since 1990. He has more than 18 years experience working in the area of battery management and low-power semiconductor products, and holds a patent in battery capacity monitors.
In addition to his current responsibilities at TI, Heacock is actively involved in various industry committees, conferences and work groups.
Heacock earned a bachelor of science in interdisciplinary engineering and management in 1983 from Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, and master of business administration degree in 1988 from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. |
