David Garlock has been a Senior Consultant for Bridge Associates LLC since joining in 2003. Mr. Garlock has 25 years of experience in financial and administrative management for major corporations and entrepreneurial ventures.
Current matters Mr. Garlock is handling include:
Serves as Interim Chief Financial Officer for Physician Specialty Hospital of East El Paso, LP, in El Paso, Texas. This Company owns and manages a 40 bed acute care physician owned hospital. It recently filed for Chapter 11 protection and the Bridge team is charged with managing a sale of its assets in a Section 363 process.
Manages the day to day operations for the post-confirmation wind down of Impath Inc., a publicly-held provider of cancer diagnostic testing service, cancer registry services, clinical trial services, and laboratory management software to the medical community. In this capacity he and the Bridge team support a Bridge Managing Director who serves as the Liquidating Trustee for Impath. Among the critical tasks in this engagement are litigation support for a successful litigation against Debtors’ former accountants; litigation support for and negotiation for the successful resolution of a $7.6 million working capital disputed related to an asset purchase agreement; and, the prosecution of approximately $26 million in federal, state and local tax refund claims.
Serves as the head of day to day operations for the Bridge team managing the post-confirmation wind down of Heilig-Meyers Company, a defunct national furniture retailer. In this capacity he and the Bridge team support a Bridge Managing Director who serves as the Liquidating Trustee for Heilig-Meyers. Included in the issues the Trust has had to deal with are realization of cash from receivables and collateralized assets transferred to the Trust by the debtors, completion of the claims settlement process for over $1 billion in unsecured claims, management of distributions to secured, priority and administrative claim holders, and resolution of the Trust’s circa 70% ownership in the RoomStore, Inc, a multi-regional furniture retailer.
Co-headed the Bridge team providing short term pre-purchase advisory services and financial analysis to one of Bridge’s equity fund clients in connection with their intended acquisition of a multi-national chain of high end boutiques located in the United States, Europe and the Caribbean.
Representative Matters
Mr. Garlock has also served as lead member of the Bridge team providing financial advice to FLYi and Independence Air, a failed airline, during its bankruptcy proceedings and now leads the Bridge team serving as financial advisor to the post-confirmation Distribution Trustee.
He was a member of the Bridge Crisis Management Team for AstroPower, Inc., an international alternative energy company serving the solar power industry with annual pre-petition of $60 million listed on the NASDAQ, during its Delaware Bankruptcy proceeding. He continues to act as the financial advisor to the post-confirmation AstroPower Liquidating Trustee. During the Bankruptcy proceeding, he was AstroPower’s Interim Controller.
Prior Experience
Prior to joining Bridge, Mr. Garlock was Chief Financial Officer for a startup information services firm, where he established accounting and administrative functions and developed financial plans for raising more than $2.5 million in venture capital. He also served as transitional financial officer for two entrepreneurial firms that were changing their business models.
Mr. Garlock has also served as a consultant for two mergers and acquisitions firms, where he managed the financial process and sale of firms in a wide range of industries.
His services included business planning, valuation and operational assessments.
