David Donell is a senior financial executive with extensive experience in accounting, finance and management consulting. David's experience in improving and implementing financial functions in companies at various stages of development comes from his extensive work in financial forecasting, strategic planning, treasury and taxation. He has also had significant responsibilities for staff management and growth, mergers and acquisitions and capital raising/debt financing.
Prior to joining Focus Management Group, David was the Principal of a firm specializing in business consulting, taxation, forensic and fraud examinations. His engagements included complex corporate tax assignments, representing clients during IRS examinations, investigative duties with the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions, forensic work with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and due diligence and valuation assignments for middle market businesses. David has served diverse range of Industries, with particular expertise in information technology and real estate.
In another prior role, David served as the CFO and Controller for a software firm, where he was responsible for all financial, operational and risk management activities. During his tenure, David was successful in implementing formal controls and procedures which, in turn, drastically increased efficiencies and improved cash flow. Working with shareholders, investment bankers and potential suitors, David was also a critical force in spearheading the structuring of all major contracts, proposals and joint venture opportunities and in achieving the successful sale of the company.
David holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from San Diego State University, California. He is a Certified Public Accountant in California, Nevada and Arizona, as well as a Certified Information Technology Professional and a Certified Fraud Examiner. He is also an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
