David Campbell, 37, is executive vice president of TXU Corp. and currently serves as the company's acting chief financial officer. Campbell joined the company in 2004 and served as EVP of Corporate Planning, Strategy, and Risk through March 2006, when he assumed his current duties.
In his role, Campbell and his team are responsible for the company's overall financial strategy, corporate planning, enterprise risk management, treasury, tax and accounting. Among his major accountabilities are spearheading the development of a high-performance financial plan, overseeing the company's performance management system, and monitoring and managing the company's key risks. His team also leads the human resources function and the company's ongoing transformation from a regulated utility into a high-performing industrial company. Finally, his team is responsible for communication with investors, customers, employees and other key stakeholders.
Previously, Campbell was a principal in the Dallas office of McKinsey & Company, Inc., where he led the Southern Region hub of McKinsey's corporate finance and strategy practice. He served clients in several industries, including energy, food products and industrial services. His work encompassed a broad range of projects and initiatives, including corporate strategy, business restructuring, and commodity risk management.
Campbell is a member of the board of trustees for the Dallas Theater Center and has served on the Rhodes Scholarship Committee of Selection. He is also a term member of the Dallas Committee on Foreign Relations and the Council on Foreign Relations.
Campbell graduated with a B.A. from Yale University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review. He also holds a master's degree from Oxford University, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar. Campbell and his wife, Tamara, live in Dallas and have three children.
