David Asay’s election to Strategic Director of GlobalPlatform will help provide strategic advice on cross-industry, independent solutions and bring particular input and insight to the Board relating to government, healthcare and ID solutions based on GlobalPlatform technologies. Mr. Asay has been with IBM’s Professional Services Organization for 23 years. He has extensive experience in the solution definition and management of complex professional services solutions. He implemented one of the first IBM Professional Services Systems Integration projects. He has specific experience in Aerospace, Insurance, Public Sector and Health Industries with skills in application development and systems integration. He has proven experience in opportunity identification, development of successful solutions, proposal creation, project management, client relationships and subcontracting. Mr. Asay has been an IBM business unit manager for over 18 years. For the past eight years Mr. Asay has managed the IBM Global Smart Card Solutions organization. He has acquired extensive technical experience in developing business solutions utilizing Smart Card and biometric technologies. He has consulted and lead teams in the implementation and deployment of Smart Card Solutions in numerous customer environments. He assisted in the development and implementation of the IBM Professional services strategy for Smart Cards. He defined the roles and acquired the skilled individuals to launch the IBM strategy. He recently led the development of the IBM offering Secure Identification Solution which combines multiple biometrics on a smart card creating a significant addition to IBM’s portfolio of solutions for Homeland Security as well as enterprise physical and logical access security He has participated in Global Platform for 5 years as well as the Smart Card Alliance for 6 years. He currently serves on the Marketing Center Committee of GlobalPlatform. Mr. Asay lives in Salt Lake City Utah where he is the IBM Senior Location Executive. He serves on numerous Community Boards including the Utah Economic Development Corporation and the Governors’ Partnership for reinventing Education. He continues to consult with IBM clients to assist them in developing new and innovative Smart Card implementations and manages IBM Global Smart Card Solutions. |
